What is the Dictionary class

The Dictionary class provides the capability to store key-value pairs.

In Core Java, as of my last knowledge update in January 2022, there is no built-in Dictionary class in the standard Java API. However, there is a similar class called Hashtable that can be used for key-value pairs.

If you are referring to a custom class or a third-party library that includes a Dictionary class, you would need to consult the documentation or provide more context for a precise answer.

In the context of Java Collections Framework, the commonly used classes for key-value pairs are HashMap, TreeMap, and LinkedHashMap. The Hashtable class is also available, but it is considered legacy, and it’s recommended to use HashMap instead due to its better performance in most scenarios.

It’s worth noting that Java evolves, and new features or classes may be introduced in newer versions. Always refer to the official Java documentation or relevant resources for the latest information.
