Nikhil Dwivedi was born on Nov 25, 1978, a qualified MBA from one of the top institutes of the country he worked as an executive in the corporate sector before getting his break in films. He was introduced by E Niwas in the film My Name Is Anthony Gonsalves opposite Amrita Rao along with Mithun Chakraborthy. Though the film did not do too well, Dwivedi was noticed and was even termed as the next big thing to watch out for.
His second film Khallballi, directed by Ajay Chandhok, was to release on 28 November 2008 but could not due to the terrorist attacks in Mumbai on 26 Nov.
He then went on to sign for the role of Laxman in Mani Ratnam’s much awaited modern adaptation of the epic Ramayan. The film is slated to release in May 2010. In addition Nikhil will be working with Ram Gopal Varma and Abbas Mustan soon
